After Registering a
Server in Aqua Data Studio the Query Analyzer can be launched
to execute and edit SQL. There are different methods of invoking
the tool, all of which launch the Query Analyzer. It is best to
navigate to the server and left click to select it in the Schema
Browser first, to ensure the apporpriate database is being used
before beginning.
- Navigate to the Main Application Menu to Server, then select
Query Analyzer
- Right-click in the Schema Browser to bring up the context menu
and select Query Analyzer
- Click the Query Analyzer Icon at the top left of the Main
Application window

All of the above operations launch the Query Analyzer Tool,
which lets you execute SQL Queries in the Database Server you are
connected to. Within the Query Analyzer is a dropdown for picking
other databases on the currently connected server. Multiple Query
Analyzers can be open at the same time in tabs or within additional
free floating Query Analyzer Windows.
Editing Properties of a Query Analyzer in Aqua Data
Studio
The properties of the Query Analyzer can be viewed and altered
by selecting File->Options->Query Analyzer from the main menu
. There are defaults set for the Query Analyzer in the Options
Dialog, depending on the database vendor and version chosen. The
preset defaults for each vendor and version have been selected
based on previous user experience and supporting database
documentation.

It is possible to establish a connection and invoke a Query
Analyzer in one step by Right clicking on a registered server and
selecting Query Analyzer As.. from the menu. Supply the Login name
and Password to establish the connection. A new Query Window will
be opened, with a connection already established.
Using the Keyboard combination CTRL + Q quickly launches the
Query Analyzer.
