Security Manager - Provides manageability for logins, server roles, users, roles and profiles allowing a user to manage permissions, roles and security of the MS SQL database.


Toolbar Operations -

Refresh : Will refresh all tabs in the security manager from the database
Expand All: Expands all tree nodes in the tree tab
Collapse All: Collapses all tree nodes in the tree tab
Create Login: Create a new login
Alter Login: Edit selected login
Drop Login: Drop selected login
Login Properties: View properties of selected login
Alter Server Role: Edit selected server role
Server Role Properties: View properties of selected server role
Create User: Create a new user
Alter User: Edit selected user
Drop User: Drop selected user
User Properties: View properties of selected user
Create Role: Create a new role (group)
Alter Role: Edit selected role
Drop Role: Drop selected role
Role Properties: View properties of selected role

Logins & Server Roles Tab - Provides a tree display of logins and server roles the MS SQL database. Selecting an object in the tree structure will display a detailed view of the object




MS SQL Security Manager - Logins and Server Roles

Logins Tab - Provides a list of logins in the MS SQL database

Name: Name of the login
Type: Login type(NT User, NT Group, Standard)
Access: Whether the login has been granted access to the server
Default Database: Name of the default database of the user when a connection is established
Has Roles: Whether the login has roles
Date Created: Date when the login was created

Server Roles Tab - Provides a list of server roles in the MS SQL database

Full Name: Descriptive name of the server role
Name: Short name of the server role
Description: Detailed description of the server role

Database Users & Roles Tab - Provides a tree display of users and roles (groups) in the MS SQL database. Selecting an object in the tree structure will display a detailed view of the object

Users Tab - Provides a list of users in the MS SQL database

Name: Name of the user
Login Name: User login name
Access: Whether the user has been granted access to the server

Name: Name of the role (group)
Type: Role type (application, standard)
